This Friday, and the two following (June 2nd and June 9th) I will be performing improvised guitar music at Paradigm Coffeehouse. Ever since I got a Ditto looping pedal (TC Electronics) I have been creating layered instrumental themes of various kinds, from blues and swing ideas to more impressionistic pieces that I basically make up as I go - the improvised part - based on chords I like and utilizing the effects I like (delay, chorus, tremelo, crunch). The challenge is to make it musical, without too much noodling! I'm not sure what's going to happen, as I won't have a set list like I do on a regular gig. So, if you're like most people who can't resist slowing down to look at a car wreck, you might want to stop by and watch me work without the safety net of a band and/or actual songs. Great beverages and comfy seating await you in the newly remodeled space, with lots of windows and a nice big stage!
